Meet Cheryl
“I would rather teach His Truth than do anything else in life.” This quote reflects Cheryl’s passion for the Lord and his Word. After years of teaching Bible studies, homeschooling leadership, and counseling others, Lodestar has given her the vehicle to take these gifts and passion to a much broader audience.
Cheryl and Bill met and fell in love while both were college students studying in France. (A very romantic story!) They were true homeschooling pioneers. They had decided to educate Rebecca (first child) at home when she was only a few months old. It was three more years before they heard the word “homeschooling” and found out it was the name for what they wanted to do! They have home educated all five of their children –Two (almost three) already into adulthood. (Rebecca 27, Alex 24, Deborah 18, Johanna 16, Jonathan 12)
Cheryl was widowed 8 years ago when they lost Bill to cancer. God has graciously provided for her to continue to be a stay-at-home mother and to educate her children. That journey (which is not over yet!) is an amazing one that Cheryl loves to share with audiences.
A transplanted Texan, Cheryl now lives in Oklahoma and invests herself primarily in the nurturing and education of her last three children at home.
